Suzy Brain England – Chair
Suzy holds the positions of chair and director of a number of public and private sector organisations including, Connexions West Yorkshire, Ofcom, Community Health Partnerships (a subsidiary of the Department of Health), Berneslai Homes, Avanta (training specialists) and the mid-Yorkshire NHS Hospitals Trust. Suzy is a Chartered Director, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Freeman of the City of London. Suzy holds an MBA and is a former Midlands Business Woman of the Year. Suzy also runs her own mentoring business for senior employees.
Suzy lives just outside Leeds with her husband and teenage son.
Fiyaz Mughal – Member with special interest in Jobcentre Plus
Fiyaz Mughal is currently Chief Executive of the Enfield Citizens Advice Bureaux Service and has been working in the voluntary and community sector for some 12 years. He is also currently a Local Municipal Councillor in the London Borough of Haringey and was also a City Councillor in Oxford during 2002 – 2004.
Fiyaz was also a member of the Working Group for Local Communities and Regeneration which was one of seven working groups created as part of the Government's Task Force convened after the bombings in London on 7th July 2005.
Catherine Elliott – Member with special interest in The Pension Service
Catherine is a qualified solicitor who has practiced in the City and in Bristol. She has also undertaken anti-drugs work in Peru and humanitarian work in Uganda. She currently works on a voluntary basis as an advocate/adviser with Age Concern and is a non-executive director with the Devon and Cornwall Probation Service.
Kamaljit Gill – Member with special interest in Disability and Carers Service
Kamaljit has worked in both the voluntary and statutory sectors of the advice arena for the past 15 years, working directly with local communities and at a senior level within the advice sector. She has a degree in Social Policy from the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Criminology from the University of Leicester.
Kamaljit has a specific interest in domestic violence issues. She is currently working on a freelance basis as an independent assessor for the Appointments Commission. She is also an independent member of Nottinghamshire Police Authority and a board member of Nottinghamshire Probation.
