Claiming if you are in the UK
You have to claim within a certain time. Do not delay in making your claim or you may lose benefit.
Contribution-based Jobseeker's Allowance
Go to your Jobcentre Plus office or Jobcentre. It is listed in the business numbers section of the phone book, under Jobcentre Plus, Employment Service or Benefits Agency.
Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay
Contact your employer.
Other benefits
Go to your Jobcentre Plus or social security office. For your nearest office, look for the display advert under Jobcentre Plus or social security office in the business numbers section of the phone book. State Pension and Pension Credit can be claimed from The Pension Service. The contact number is 0845 60 60 265.
Claiming UK or other countries' benefits when in another EEA country
Claim in the country you are in. Go to the authorities who run the insurance scheme there.
