- If you are on a low income and any of the following apply: you are a lone parent, you are sick or disabled, you are aged 60 or over, you are caring for someone who is ill or disabled, you are registered blind:
check Income Support (this link will take you to the Jobcentre Plus website). - If you are aged 16 or over but under 19:
check Child Benefit someone gets for you (this link will take you to the Jobcentre Plus website). - If you are aged between 16 and 19, undertaking a course that involves at least 12 hours a week guided learning, and your household income is less than £30,000 check Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). - If you are paying rent and on a low income:
check Housing Benefit. - If you are paying council tax and on a low income:
check Council Tax Benefit.
