Bulk Letter Forwarding Service

DWP provides a letter forwarding service for pension and insurance companies wanting to forward beneficial information to customers, usually about pensions or insurance policies.

Every effort must have been made to trace the person concerned before asking us to forward any letters.

The charge for all requests for a trace received up to 31 December 2009 is £3.09 plus VAT = £ 3.55, that must be paid in advance. All cheques must be made payable to: The Department for Work and Pensions.

Due to the increase of VAT, the charge for a trace will increase to £3.09 + VAT of £0.54 per trace from 1 January 2010, resulting in a total price per trace of £3.63. Please note that any request for a trace received on or after 1 January 2010 with the incorrect payment will not be processed until we receive the correct payment. We will not disclose information to the letter sender about any individual and we have the right to refuse applications or stop processing requests at any time. It is also up to the person contacted to reply, not DWP.

You can get more information in the Bulk Letter Forwarding Instruction Leaflet (46KB) PDF and use the following forms to make an application:

As a result of revised data security our forms were amended in June 2008.  Please do not use the old CRU1010 and CRU1015 forms use the new BLF1010 and BLF1015 from the links above.
